ESEE RC4 Survival Knife Review

User Rating:  / 1

RAT4 (4)I have been looking to do a review on the RAT RC4 for while now and all my waiting paid off. This knife is one of the finest products I have reviewed. The RAT 4 is in my humble opinion one of the best bushcraft knives out on the market today. The 4 inch blade is just right for the tasks of bushcraft not to big to get in the way of small carving projects but long enough to be used as a full survival knife.

ESEE Knives Junglas Review

User Rating:  / 2

ESEE Knives JunglasAs a long time fan of the ESEE knives ever since they were Rat Knives I have been using there products and never have I had any problem with their knives. Out of all the brands of knives I have used over the years ESEE is one maker who excels when it comes to making top quality blades at prices all us outdoorsmen can afford.

Leatherman Wave Review

User Rating:  / 1

Leatherman.wave.6The Wave is the smaller brother of the Surge. Many of the items found in the Wave are very similar to the Surge. The Wave is similar in size and weight to GERBER and SOG multi-tools, but the cost is far lower. You can pick up a Wave for around $60 to $80 bucks new, where a SOG comes in at around $130 (you can get the SOG cheaper depending on where you buy it). The GERBER Multi-tools are around $84, so you can see in most cases the Leatherman tools come out cheaper if you shop around!

GERBER Bear Grylls Ultimate Pro Review

User Rating:  / 3

BEAR.GRYLLS.ULTIMATE.PRO.1For full disclosure I didn’t review the first bear Grylls fixed blade because after doing some research (as I do for all products we review) it was getting very bad reviews, but GERBER has made up for it with the new Bear Grylls Ultimate Pro Fixed Blade!

The Leatherman Surge Review

Leatherman.Surge.8

Simply… Wow! I have to confess that I’ve been a very loyal fan of SOG EOD tools for many, many years. But I think Leatherman has them beat! I’ve been using the MONSTER tool from Leatherman called the Surge, and I say Monster, because this tool is heavier and larger than any other I’ve used from any company! The Surge feels more like a tool you would have in your garage, and my first thought was MAC tool! The Surge I would say is the MAC tool of Multi-tools, the one that is trusted everywhere and is heavy duty enough to do anything!

GERBER DownRange Sharpener Review

User Rating:  / 2

GERBER.DOWNRANGE.SHARPENER.1The term “downrange” is slang among military for going overseas to battle or for someone who has gone to war. Many teams don’t carry large heavy amounts of gear so what they do carry needs to be light, dependable and made to last.

GERBER 06 Manual Combat Folder Review

User Rating:  / 2

Gerber 06 Manual Combat FolderWhen it comes to a folder I prefer a heavy one… I know a lot of guys don’t, but to me a heavy folder feels like you really have something substantial that’s not a toy! Now that’s not to say that a light folder isn’t great; in fact one I really like, is the SOG Aegis, it's light and great quality. But if I had my pick I would prefer a heavier model like the ZT-301 or in this case the new GERBER Manual Combat Folder.

Ontario Ranger Knives RD-4 Review

User Rating:  / 0

Ontario Ranger Knives RD-4In case you didn’t notice this version of the RD series is the 4 and a half inch version similar to the RD-9 which is 9 inches. I’m fan of the RD-9 so I wanted to give this model a go because it’s pretty much the same knife just with a smaller blade. The handle, pummel and even the blade width is the same only the blade is shorter keeping all the things I liked about the RD9 and just shorting up the blade.
